Centre Manager

We are looking to fill the positions of Centre Manager. The candidate must have experience, knowledge and a passion for the well being and holistic industry. Professionalism and an excellent standard of quality in customer service is a must. Centre Manager

Job Title: Centre Manager
Reporting To: Directors, evolve wellness centre
Working Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (may require flexibility of hours)
Annual leave: 25 days per annum
Location: 10 Kendrick Mews, South Kensington, London, SW7 3HG
Direct reports: Three (Front of House Co‐ordinator, Marketing Manager and Yoga Business Development Manager)

Job Purpose: 

Operational management of the evolve wellness centre, with responsibility for all key management areas, including centre policies and procedures, accounts and financial administration, staffing, teaching, timetable, therapists/treatments and room/studio rental.

evolve’s vision is to provide an urban sanctuary for healthy living. evolve is a yoga and wellness centre in the heart of South Kensington, London, offering a varied range of yoga classes, holistic treatments, innovative workshops and courses on the body, mind, spirit and ecology. The evolve team’s love of nature is reflected in the centre’s rooftop garden, which is intended to inspire more urban gardening within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational management of the centre

  •  Ensure there are fully documented and up‐to‐date operational procedures for the day‐to‐day running of the centre, and these are clearly available and communicated to all staff members, with training and support provided as required for new joiners.
  • Centre policies and terms and conditions are documented and provided to all centre members and clearly understood by all evolve centre staff.
  • Provide concise weekly updates (or as required) to evolve Directors on overall centre operations, with monthly reporting on Key Performance Indictors, as agreed with the Directors.
  • Organise frequent (at least monthly) communications for all centre staff on progress against the overall plan, objectives and provide an opportunity for staff feedback and interaction.
  • Ensure the centre is staffed as required, the centre is always maintained and managed to the highest standard and all equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.

Accounts and Financial Administration

  • Manage the weekly financial administration, including inputting all outgoings into QuickBooks, and banking all cash/cheques, and on a monthly basis undertaking a reconciliation of all outgoings and incomings and sending a summary financial report to the Directors/co‐founders.
  • Ensure all staff, teachers, therapists and studio rentals are paid as required, administering invoices and timesheets in a timely manner.

Staff management

  • Provide clear and consistent objectives for all centre staff, updated and reviewed at least every six months, and discussed with staff on a regular (ideally monthly) basis.
  • Document a Centre Manager’s handbook in relation to staff responsibilities, e.g. job descriptions, performance reviews, performance management, and ensure these are updated as necessary.
  • Provide support as required to the Front of House co‐ordinator with the management of Front of House assistants, ensuring the centre is always appropriately staffed and staff members operate in accordance with evolve centre policies and procedures.

Marketing

  • With the Directors and Marketing Manager, ensure a clear and effective marketing plan is in place to support the membership and retention initiatives of the centre.
  • Provide support as required to the Marketing Manager.

Timetable, Membership & Retention

  • Provide support as required to the Front of House team in the event of issues or complaints from centre members.
  • Ensure any member complaints are dealt with professionally and quickly (ideally within 48 hours of an issue being raised)
  • Work with the Yoga Business Development Manager to ensure the most suitable and commercially effective class timetable is in place, with a high standard of teacher and type / style, length and timing of classes to meet member demand.
  • Ensure appropriate membership / sales targets are in place, and member loyalty, referral and retention are a key focus in order to meet financial targets (may require liaison with the Directors/co‐founders).

Teacher and Treatment liaison / communications

  • To be the point person responsible for the teachers, therapists and workshop providers
  • Creating a systematic process for the booking, management, payment and on‐going communication with these providers, and ensuring this is clearly documented for the Front of House team.

Requirements:

  • The evolve Centre Manager needs to be committed to working towards the vision of the centre, demonstrating an enthusiasm and passion for health, well‐being, the community and environment and working with the management team to expand and grow the business.
  • Experience working in a similar environment is preferable but not essential; however the role holder must demonstrate at least two years experience in a client‐centric management role, where significant pro‐activity, initiative and track record can be evidenced.
  • Must have outstanding organisation, attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team, and ensure that responsibilities are effectively delegated as required.
  • Experience of working with affiliates, partners and skilled at networking.
  • Skilled at problem solving and proactive in finding creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of Mind Body Online is preferable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is preferable but not essential.

Front Desk
We are currently looking for a professional and committed individual, who has a warm, inviting and hospitable demeanour, to join our small team.

The position is a front of house role so it is essential that the applicant has excellent communication skills, is a fluent English speaker, and can display knowledge and interest in the health and wellbeing world. As the role is primarily computer-based the successful applicant must also be able to demonstrate good administration and computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, and Mind Body Online would be an advantage). In addition, an excellent phone manner, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and to work under pressure are also a must. A knowledge of yoga and a regular yoga practice is highly desirable.

We are a small and hardworking team and are very passionate about what we do. We want to make sure that the person we employ not only shares these qualities but they also posses a similar ethos to holistic health and sustainable living. We are looking for someone who can commit to a minimum of 6 months.
